Ingredients
- 1 pound won-ton wrappers
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1/2 pound shrimp, cut into 1/4" pieces
- 2 tablespoons light soy sauce
- 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons water
- dash white pepper
- dash sesame oil
- 12 cups chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon green onion, sliced thin
- 4 ounces Barbeque Pork, see recipe
- 4 ounces broccoli florets
- 4 ounces carrots, sliced thin
- 1/2 pound shrimp, tails removed
- 1 egg, beaten
Preparation
Step 1
Mix seasoning with ground pork and shrimp.
Place one teaspoon of pork mixture on each won-ton wrapper and seal tightly with beaten egg.
Have one pot of boiling water and a large bowl of cold water.
Place won-tons in boiling water. Cover and bring to a boil again, add cold water and bring to a boil. Do this two more times to ensure pork is cooked. When won-tons are done they will float.
Remove won-tons and rinse under cold water to prevent sticking.
Add broccoli, carrots and shrimp to won-ton water. Boil until shrimp is cooked. Strain and add to cooked won-tons.
Place won-tons, vegetables and green onion in a very large bowl and pour chicken stock over all.
DEEP FRIED WON TONS
Deep fry unboiled won tons in 375F fat until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Serve hot with plum sauce or sauce of your choice.
