Open Barbecue Style Tri-Tip
- 3 pounds beef tri-tip
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 3 tablespoons Dijon-style mustard
- 2/3 cup bottled steak sauce
- 1/4 cup prepared horseradish undrained
- 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
Sprinkle garlic powder over tri-tip and then brush both sides with the mustard. Cook tri-tip over open hickory and coal seven minutes each side twice. Combine steak sauce, horseradish and sugar. Baste tri-tip with sauce. Remove to platter and slice with grain.
