Sourdough Pancakes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup * STARTER
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 BEATEN egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil

Preparation

Step 1

BRING STARTER TO ROOM TEMPERATURE.
IN A BOWL, COMBINE FLOUR, SUGAR, BAKING POWDER, SODA AND SALT.
COMBINE EGG, MILK, OIL AND STARTER. ADD ALL AT ONCE TO FLOUR MIXTURE.
STIR UNTIL BLENDED BUT STILL SLIGHTLY LUMPY.
POUR ABOUT 1.4 CUP BATTER ONTO A HOT, LIGHTLY GREASED GRIDDLE FOR EACH PANCAKE.
COOK UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN, TURNING TO COOK OTHER SIDE WHEN PANCAKES HAVE A BUBBLY SURFACE
AND SLIGHTLY DRY EDGES. MAKES ABOUT 12 4-INCH PANCAKES.
