Asiago Cheese Dip With Beer Bread

Ingredients

  • Beer Bread
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon honey warmed slightly
  • 12 ounces beer(amber or red ale)
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • Asiago Cheese Dip
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 12 each mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/4 cup chopped oil packed sun dried tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/2 cups grated asiago cheese, divided

Preparation

Step 1

Beer Bread: Preheat oven to 350. Combine flour and sugar. Add honey and beer; mix thoroughly. Stir in cheese. Place dough in a loaf pan. Brush with melted butter. Bake for 1 hour, cool, then slice.

Cheese Dip: Preheat oven to 350. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms, tomatoes and green onions; cook until mushrooms are soft. Season with salt and pepper.

Combine mayonnaise, sour cream and one cup of asiago cheese. Stir in mushroom mixture until well combined. Transfer mixture to a small baking dish. Sprinke with remaining 1/2 cup Asiago cheese. Bake for 15 minutes, or until mixture is smooth and cheese topping has melted. Serve warm with beer bread.
