Ingredients

  • 1 can pinto beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1/2 pound ground chuck
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 red pepper, diced
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 can tomato pastes
  • 1 can stewed tomatoes
  • 1 can stewed tomatoes with jalapenos
  • 2-3 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • salt and pepper
  • Accompaniments: sliced jalapeno peppers, shredded cheddar cheese, corn chips

Preparation

Step 1

Brown pork and beef over medium-high heat. Remove from pan and drain fat. In the same pan, saute onion, pepper, and garlic. Add beans, tomato paste, canned tomatoes with juices, and spices. Simmer over low heat until flavors meld together. Season. Serve with jalapenos, cheese, and chips.
