  • 2 c all purpose flour
  • 1 T baking powder
  • 1/2 t baking soda
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 1 cup of currants or raisins
  • 1 T melted butter
  • 4 oz (1/2 c) sour cream
  • 1/2 c buttermilk left overnight at room temp



Step 1

Lightly grease a baking sheet.
Add all dry ingredients to a large mixing bowl
whisk together well
in a separate bowl mix currants, melted butter, sour cream and buttermilk
make a well in the middle of the dry ingredients-slowly add wet ingredients
use a wooden spoon to mix wet and dry ingredients until dough is soft & moist
drop by generous tablespoons on the baking sheet
bake at 375 for 12-14 minutes
