Ingredients
- 1-1/4c.1-1/4 c. (2-1/2sticks) butter, softened
- 3/4c.3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2c.1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 11 egg
- 1tsp.1 tsp. vanilla
- 1-1/2c.1-1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1tsp.1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2tsp.1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
- 1tsp.1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4tsp.1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 3c.3 c. quick oats

Step 1
Heat oven to 375F. Beat margarine and sugars until creamy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Add combined flour, baking soda, salt and spices; mix well. Stir in oats. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-9 minutes for a chewy cookie/10-11 minutes for a crisper cookie. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack.
