Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 28 oz. can canned tomatoes, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, crushed
  • 1/16 teaspoon finely ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons red wine

Preparation

Step 1

In a large saucepan heat olive oil until hot.
Add onion and garlic. Saute' until tender, about 5 minutes.
Add crushed tomatoes, salt, Italian seasoning and black pepper.
Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add wine. Simmer, covered, for 5 minutes. Serve over freshly cooked pasta, if desired.
