Ingredients
- 2 c a.p. flour
- 1 1/2 c sugar
- 1 T baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c shortening
- 1 c low fat milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 4 egg whites

Preparation
Step 1
. Sift together the dry ingredients
. Whip egg whites to soft peaks
. Cream together the shortening and the sugar, add in the vanilla and the milk, add in the dry ingredients 1 cup at a time, fold in the egg whites
. Divide the cake batter into 2 greased 8" round cake pans, and bake at 350 degrees until done, cool, turnout and frost
