  • 1 1/2

    c sugar

  • 1

    T baking powder

  • 1/2

    tsp. salt

  • 1/2

    c shortening

  • 1

    c low fat milk

  • 1

    tsp. vanilla

  • 4

    egg whites

Directions

. Sift together the dry ingredients . Whip egg whites to soft peaks . Cream together the shortening and the sugar, add in the vanilla and the milk, add in the dry ingredients 1 cup at a time, fold in the egg whites . Divide the cake batter into 2 greased 8" round cake pans, and bake at 350 degrees until done, cool, turnout and frost
