Ingredients

  • 1 bag or 64 caramels
  • 1/2 cup lite cream or canned milk
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups oatmeal
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups butter
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup nuts

Preparation

Step 1

Melt together caramels and cream. Cool slightly.
Mix together flour, oatmeal, brown sugar, soda, salt, and butter. Mix until coarse . Put half of dry mixture in a cake pan and bake for 10 minutes at 350.
Take out of oven and pour caramels on top. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts. Put rest of dry ingredients on top and bake 15 to 20 minutes longer.
Cool before cutting.
