Marinade for Steak, Chicken, Pork

A super easy marinade perfect for steaks, or chicken, pork or fish, that not only tenderize the meat but also creates a beautiful color and glaze

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tsp. extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger

Step 1

1.In a small bowl whisk together all ingredients
2.Open a gallon size plastic Ziploc style bag and place in a large bowl - this helps to keep bag upright and to make sure meat is covered by marinade
3.Place steaks (or your preferred protein) into bag
4.Pour marinade over meat and close bag, removing as much air as possible
5.Squish bag around to make sure all the meat is covered in marinade
6.Place back in bowl and place in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours but 4 is preferable
7.Remove protein from marinade, discarding marinade and cook meat as desired - we grilled the steaks over medium high heat for 6-8 minutes on each side for medium rare

I would add 1 point per serving as most of the marinade is thrown out
