Wild rice soup (christmas point)

Ingredients

  • 2c cooked rice ( wash rice and cover 1 cup of rice with 2cups water and 1tsp salt , bring to boil and cover and simmer 20-25 minutes-until tender, strain in wire strainer and place backin pan and cover to steam 5-10 fluff with fork
  • 3T butter
  • 2T chopped onion(onion powder)
  • 1/2 cup celery
  • 2T mined green pepper
  • 1/4 c flour
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 can mushrooms drained
  • 1 cup cream

Preparation

Step 1

Melt butterand saute grn pepper and celery(onion if used)gradually add flour, add chicken broth stir until thick, stir in cooked rice,and salt, simmer 5 minutesadd cream and mushrooms , heat to serving temp
