Pasta Sauce

Great base for lots of recipes. Can double then freeze excess.

Ingredients

  • 1 can 16oz. stewed tomatoes
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 can tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh onion
  • 1-2 lg clove garlic minced
  • 1 tspn dried oregano
  • 1 tbspn dried basil or 1/3 cup fresh
  • is better
  • tbspn italian seasoning
  • salt
  • pepper
  • shake of red pepper flake

Preparation

Step 1

Saute onion then garlic until translucent. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil, simmer 10+ mins. Thin with immersion blender leaving some chunks. Salt to taste.
