    pkg. unflavored gelatin

  • 1/4

    c water (room temperature)

  • 1/2

    c light corn syrup

  • 1

    T glycerine

  • 2

    T shortening

  • 8

    c powdered sugar lightly spooned into measuring cup (very important step)

Directions

. Sprinkle gelatin over the water in a saucepan to bloom . Heat pan to melt the bloomed gelatin, stir in the corn syrup, glycerin, and shortening, heat until melted . In the bowl of a stand mixer, place the powdered sugar and make a well in the center, pour the gelatin mixture in the well and mix with the paddle attachment to combine, switch to the kneading tool and knead fondant until pulls away cleanly from the sides of the bowl. . Fondant should be soft and pliable, slightly moist, if too dry adjust by kneading in a little shortening
