GINGERBREAD COOKIES

Ingredients

• 1 c packed brown sugar
• 1/3 c shortening
• 1 1/2 c dark molasses
• 2/3 c cold water
• 7 c a.p. flour
• 2 tsp. baking soda
• 2 tsp. ground ginger
• 1 tsp. allspice
• 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
• 1 tsp. ground cloves
• 1/2 tsp. salt

Preparation

Step 1

. Sift together all the dry ingredients

. Combine all the wet ingredients

. Mix both wet and dry ingredients together in thirds until dough pulls away clean from the sides of mixing bowl, wrap dough and chill until ready to use
