CHERRY CRUMB DESERT
An easy desert to put together which always comes out with fabulous results.
- 1 /c cup butter, chilled
- 1 pkg. yellow cake mix
- 1 (21 oz) can cherry, blueberry, or peach pie filling
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
- sweetened whipped cream or ice cream (optional)
Preparation time 15mins
Cooking time 45mins
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a mixing bowl, cut butter into yellow cake mix as for pastry dough. Set aside 1 cup of this crumb cake mixture. Pat remaining crumb cake mixture onto the bottom and 1/2 inch up the sides of a 9 x 13-inch pan. Carefully spread pie filling over crust. Combine the chopped walnuts or chopped pecans with the reserved 1 cup of crumb cake mixture and sprinkle over the top.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes until the top is golden brown. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream if desired.
