An easy desert to put together which always comes out with fabulous results.more
/c cup butter, chilled
pkg. yellow cake mix
(21 oz) can cherry, blueberry, or peach pie filling
cup chopped walnuts or pecans
sweetened whipped cream or ice cream (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a mixing bowl, cut butter into yellow cake mix as for pastry dough. Set aside 1 cup of this crumb cake mixture. Pat remaining crumb cake mixture onto the bottom and 1/2 inch up the sides of a 9 x 13-inch pan. Carefully spread pie filling over crust. Combine the chopped walnuts or chopped pecans with the reserved 1 cup of crumb cake mixture and sprinkle over the top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes until the top is golden brown. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream if desired.
