Pommes Dauphinoise (Cheese Potatoes)

Ingredients

  • 2 * 2 lbs. Yukon gold or russet potatoes
  • * Salt & pepper to taste
  • * ½ c. half & half
  • 1 * 1&1/2 c. whipping cream
  • 4 * 4 oz. Gruyere cheese, shredded
  • * ⅛ tsp. nutmeg

Preparation

Step 1

1.

Peel potatoes & slice into ⅜ in. slices using mandolin slicer.
2.

Arrange half the potatoes in 9 in. baking dish & sprinkle with S & P. Combine half & half & cream in 2 c. measure. Pour half of cream mixture over potatoes & top with half of cheese.
3.

Repeat remaining ingredients. Top with nutmeg.
4.

Bake @ 375 degrees for 50-60 min. or until potatoes are tender & top is slightly browned.
