Tea Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 4 cups and 4 Tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cream of tartar
  • Sugar

Preparation

Step 1

1. Cream butter, white sugar and powdered sugar. Add eggs and salt. Beat well. Beat in oil and vanilla. Sift flour, baking soda and cream of tartar together and add to creamed mixture. Work into a very soft dough.

2. Drop by scant tsp onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Oil bottom of a glass, dip into a dish of sugar and flatten cookies on pan. Dip sugar before every cookie. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 min.
