Ingredients

  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup raisins

Step 1

1. In large bowl, whisk the egg, buttermilk and butter. Sift in flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, white sugar, brown sugar and cinnamon; blend. Fold in raisins. Pour mixture into a greased and floured loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-55 min.

2. Take out of oven and remove from pan while hot and cool on rack. While hot brush top lightly with melted butter to keep crust from cracking.
