French Breakfast Muffins

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

Heat over to 350 degrees. Grease muffin cups. Mix shortening, 1/2 cup sugar (use other half for topping), and egg. Stir in flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg alternately with milk. Fill muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake 20 to 25 munutes.

Mix 1/2 cup of sugar and cinnamon. After baking roll puffs in melted butter then in cinnamon/sugar mixture.
