Homemade Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 c. milk
  • 1/4 stick butter
  • 2 T. sugar
  • 3 tsp. salt
  • 1 cake yeast
  • 1/4 c. warm water
  • 2 1/2 c. flour

Preparation

Step 1

Heat milk, butter, sugar and salt in a pan until butter is melted; set aside to cool. Mix together yeast and water. Add yeast mixture to cooled milk mixture. Then add flour and knead 10 to 15 minutes. Let rise 1 hour and push down, let rise again. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Makes 1 loaf bread. Can also be made into dinner rolls.
