Potato Gratin

Ingredients

  • 8 cups russet potatoes peeled and cut into chunks (about 2 1/2 pounds not too small)
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup white onions sliced
  • 1 T. garlic, minced
  • salt
  • pepper
  • nutmeg
  • 1 cup shredded swiss cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Put everything except cheese in a saucepan and simmer for 10 minutes. Layer 1/2 potatoes in greased 4 qt. casserole/ top with 1/2 cheese and pour milk and cream mixture on top.

Bake uncovered. 450 25 minutes
