Ingredients
- 8 cups russet potatoes peeled and cut into chunks (about 2 1/2 pounds not too small)
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup white onions sliced
- 1 T. garlic, minced
- salt
- pepper
- nutmeg
- 1 cup shredded swiss cheese
Preparation
Step 1
Put everything except cheese in a saucepan and simmer for 10 minutes. Layer 1/2 potatoes in greased 4 qt. casserole/ top with 1/2 cheese and pour milk and cream mixture on top.
Bake uncovered. 450 25 minutes
