I have made this cake for approx. 20 years....it's always a hit. I don't always make the glaze as it is quite decadent. I save that for guests.

Ingredients

  • 1

    pkg. Chocolate cake mix

  • 1

    pkg. Cream cheese, softened

  • 2

    tbsp. Margarine or butter, softened

  • 1

    tbsp. Cornstarch

  • 1

    14oz. can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk

  • 1

    Egg

  • 1

    tsp. Vanilla extract

Directions

Preheat oven to 350F. Prepare cake mix as pkg. directs. Pour batter into well-greased and floured 10-inch bundt pan. In small mixer bowl, beat cheese, margarine and cornstarch until fluffy. Gradually beat in condensed milk then egg and vanilla until smooth. Pour evenly over cake batter. Bake 50-55 mins or until wooden pick comes out clean. Cool 10 mins. Remove from pan. Cool thoroughly. Glaze or garnish as desired. Store in refrigerator. Glaze 1/2 cup Light corn syrup 6 tbsp. Water 5 tbsp. Butter 1 12oz. Semi-sweet chocolate chips Combine 1st three ingredients in saucepan. Bring to a rapid boil Remove from heat and add chocolate until melted. Cool at room temperature and pour over cake.
