BREAD****Toast Cups

25/02/15-Makes a good vessel and we both enjoy. Had first time with Turkey a-la King - very good and a lot lower in fat than vol-ou-vent!
- 2
Ingredients
- 4 slices white or whole wheat bread (something pretty soft so you can mold it), crusts removed or not
- (I used Dan's Wonder bread the first time, you might try something whole wheat for yourself and try leaving the crusts on for yours as well)
- 2 teaspoons garlic-flavoured olive oil
Preparation
Step 1
*Cut* crusts off whole wheat or white bread. Using rolling pin, roll each slice gently on each side to 1/4-inch thickness. Brush with garlic-flavoured olive oil and fit each into 6 oz. custard cup or muffin pan, brushing top again with the oil (blue Pyrex dishes were perfect). Bake in 375°F oven until golden brown, about 15 minutes. Be sure to make a bit ahead as they don't crisp up until they cool. Just before serving, reheat for a minute or two in the oven. Serve two toast cups per person.
