Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons frozen orange juice concentrate
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 4 tablespoons white-wine vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled and diced
  • 1 1/4 pound London broil 1 1/2-inch thick
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Preparation

Step 1

Heat grill or oven to 450 degrees.

Sprinkle the sesame seeds in a skillet or baking dish. Place on top of grill or in the oven and toast the seeds, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes, or until they are lightly toasted.

In a saucepan, combine the orange juice, soy sauce, vinegar, red pepper flakes and Ginger. Simmer for about 3 minutes, until the mixture is slightly thickened. Add the garlic to the mixture and set aside.

Brush the London broil with the oil, then brush with some of the marinade.

Place the steak over the hot coal or in the oven and cook for about 5 minutes. Flip the steak over and brush with more of the marinade. Cook the steak for a few minutes more or until it is done to your preference. Steak should be pink in the middle.

Slice the steak on the diagonal, into very thin slices.

If there is more marinade, bring it to a boil before serving.

Sprinkle the steak with the sesame seeds.

Serve hot.
