Ingredients
- Crust:
- 1 1/3 C. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 C. shortening
- Filling:
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 C. chopped onion
- 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 C. flour
- 1/3 C. dill pickle liquid
- 1/3 C. milk
- 1/2 C. chopped dill pickle
- 2 C. shredded cheese, divided
Preparation
Step 1
1. Heat oven to 425 degrees. Prepare crust. Mix flour and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture looks like tiny peas. Sprinkle in 3-4 T. cold water, mixing lightly until flour is moistened and pastry almost cleans sides of bowl. Pat in bottom and up sides of quiche dish. Bake 15 min.
2. Cook ground beef, onion, and garlic in skillet; drain. Sprinkle with salt and flour. Stir in pickle juice, milk, pickles, and 1/2 cheese. Spoon into crust. Bake 15 min; sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake about 5 more mins.
