Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Flour, sifted
  • 1 1/4 Cups Sugar
  • 1 Tbs. Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1/2 Cup Butter, softened
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • 2 Eggs
  • Frosting: (Perfectly Perfect Chocolate Frosting)
  • 1 Stick Butter
  • 2/3 Cup Cocoa
  • 3 Cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Milk
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 2 8" baking pans; set aside. In a large mixing bowl, sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add butter, milk and vanilla. Beat for 2 minutes, occasionally scraping down sides. Add eggs and beat for 2 minutes more. Pour batter into prepared baking pans, dividing equally between the pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the middle comes out clean. Remove from oven and cool in pans for 10 minutes and then turn out and cool on racks. Frost when cool.
Frosting: Melt butter, stir in cocoa. Alternately add powdered sugar with milk, beating on medium until spreading consistency. Add more milk if needed. Add vanilla and frost cooled cake.
