Glass microwave plate (idea for repurposing)

Dear Heloise: I always enjoy reading your column, and have picked up so many invaluable hints. Similar to one of your readers, we had a broken microwave but didn’t want to throw away the glass plate, so we put it underneath our coffeemaker. It catches not only water spills, but any coffee spills as well.

My husband was so pleased that the next time another microwave broke, he took the glass plate from it and put it underneath the single-cup coffeemaker at his airplane hangar. That came in real handy the day he was using that coffeemaker to brew a cup of coffee and forgot to put the cup underneath it.
