Tea Biscuit

Ingredients

  • 2 c apf
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ c cold butter
  • 1/3 c half and half cream
  • 1 egg
  • splash of vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

1. Toss the flour and butter together so that the mixture is slightly lumpy. Add the cream, and continue mixing - but do not use your hands as the butter will melt. Add the egg at room temp and a splash of vanilla.
2. Once the dough has come together – put aside and let it chill for at least 10 min. Roll out the mixture and cut into circles, brush the tops of the tea cakes with a bit of an egg wash or a bit of milk.
3. Bake at 400 for 12 -14 mins.
