Ingredients
- 1 cup dates
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 1/2 tp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 cups rice crispies
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
- Coconut
Preparation
Step 1
Combine dates, sugar and egg in frying pan. Place over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture bubbles and thickens.
Remove from heat and stir in saltand vanilla, ,then rice crispies and nuts. Cool slightly.
Shape into balls and roll in coconut. Let stand until cool and firm. Serve as a cookie or a confection.
Makes 4 dozen.
