Ingredients

  • 1 small square challah (remove crust)
  • 1 pound chestnuts (soak and remove skin)
  • 1 1/2 pkgs. frozen onions, sauteed in butter
  • salt and pepper
  • 11 eggs

Preparation

Step 1

Tear bread and soak in water for a few minutes. Squeeze dry. Fry bread in butter and mash until dry. Cool.

Add eggs, onions, chestnuts, and seasoning. Pout into a Pammed 2 1/2 quart casserole. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 1 - 1 1/2 hours.
