Pineapple Upside Down Cake

  • 1/2 c. (1 stick) butter or margarine
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 can (20 oz.) pineapple slices, drained
  • Maraschino cherry halves
  • 1 pkg. Duncan Hines Pineapple Supreme Cake Mix

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt butter in a 13 x 9" cake pan. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly in pan. Arrange drained pineapple slices and cherries on the sugar mixture. Mix cake as directed on package. Do not substitute pineapple juice for water. Pour batter over fruit. Bake at 350 degrees for about 50 minutes or until done. Let stand 5 minutes then turn upside down onto a cookie sheet.
