German Style Pork Chops

Ingredients

  • 6 thick Pork chops
  • 3 TBSP. brown sugar
  • 1 pkg. drained sauerkraut
  • 3 TBSP. butter
  • 1 bottle pork gravy
  • 2 TBSP. caraway seeds

Preparation

Step 1

-Season chops with salt and pepper
-Saute in hot vegetable oil (browning chops)
-Remove from pan
-In same pan, add sugar, butter and caraway seeds. Cook until sugar dissolves.
-Add gravy and sauerkraut. Mix together.
-In Pyrex dish (or any deep roasting pan- deeper the better) place chops and sauerkraut mixture over.
-Cover very tightly with foil
-Bake 4 1/2 hours on 250 degrees
