French Apple Pie

Ingredients

  • Pie:
  • 1/3 to 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • dash of salt
  • 8 cups apples
  • Crumb Topping:
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter

Preparation

Step 1

Peel, core, and cut up apples. Toss with rest of ingredients and put in pie pan. Topping: Mix flour and brown sugar. Cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle on top of apple mixture. Bake at 425 for 40 to 50 minutes.
