Ingredients
- 1 double pie crust (9-inch)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 3 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 8 granny smith apples

Preparation
Step 1
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Melt butter in a saucepan. Stir in flour to form paste. Add water, white sugar, brown sugar and cinnamon. Reduce temperature and let simmer.
2. Place bottom crust in pie pan. Fill with apple, mounded slightly. Cover with a lattice-work of crust. Gently pour sugar, butter and cinnamon liquid over apples and crust. Pour slowly so it does not run off.
3. Bake 15 minutes in preheated oven. Reduce temperature to 350 degrees F. Continue baking for 35-45 minutes, or until apples are soft.
