Hush My Mouth Brownies

Ingredients

  • Icing:
  • 4 sticks butter
  • 1 3/4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. dark brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 5 sqs. bitter chocolate
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 4 eggs, beaten (large)
  • 3/4 c. chopped pecans
  • 2 sqs. bitter chocolate, melted
  • 2 T. softened butter
  • 3 c. powdered sugar
  • 4 T. hot milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Melt butter and chocolate for 1 to 2 minutes in microwave (don't overheat). Cool. In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt. Cream sugars and eggs in another bowl. Add vanilla. Mix well and add to cooled chocolate mixture. Mix and slowly add flour mixture until just moistened. Mix in pecans and pour batter into a 9x13x2-inch baking pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 to 45 minutes or until wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool and frost.
ICING: Mix until lump free. Add milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, until of spreading consistency.
