Buttercream Frosting

From Rita Heikenfeld. Leftover can be frozen for a couple months. This is my go to recipe for decorating Christmas cookies. Perfect consistency and tastes great!

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter (1/2 cup) softened
  • 4 1/2 cups powdered sugar (remove lumps by sifting if necessary)
  • 2 t vanilla
  • 4-6 T milk, more if needed

Preparation

Step 1

Beat butter until creamy and then beat in sugar, vanilla, and enough milk to desired consistency. Makes 3 cups.
