Sausage-Corn Mix Bake

  • 1 lb., pork sausage links
  • 3 Tbs. brown sugar
  • 1 tart apple, cored and sliced
  • 1 pkg. (10-12 oz.) corn muffin or corn bread mix

Preparation

Step 1

In a heavy 10 in. skillet, brown the sausage on one side. Stir brown sugar into drippings. Turn the sausages brown side up and arrange them in a spoke wheel. Arrange apple slices over the sausage. Prepare the corn mix according to pkg. directions. Spoon over sausage and apple slices, spread evenly. Cover tightly and cook on grill over low heat about 12 min. until batter is baked. Remove from heat and let stand a minute. Turn out on platter. Can also be made in a small electric skillet at 350 degrees.
