The All American Dessert

Red, white and blue dessert perfect for Memorial Day or July 4th picnics.

Ingredients

• 4 cups boiling water
• 1 large or two small packages red flavor jello
• 1 large or two small packages blue flavor jello
• 2 cups cold water
• 1 tub (8oz.) cool whip, divided
• 4 cups prepared pound cake, cubed
• 2 cups sliced strawberries

Preparation

Step 1

Stir 2 cups boiling water into each flavor of jello in separate bowls until completely dissolved. Add 1 cup cold water to each. Pour into separate 9 x 13 pans. Refrigerate at least 3 hours or until firm. Cut into 1/2" cubes. Layer cubes, whipped topping, cake and strawberries in a 3 quart, footed clear glass serving bowl. Garnish with any remaining whipped topping. Refrigerate at least 1 hour.
