Ingredients
- 1 onion, diced
- 1/2 cup green peppers, diced
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 pounds ground sirloin
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 2 cans tomato juice (5 1/2 oz. cans)
- 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 cups rolled oats (Quaker)
- 1/4 cup ketchup, for coating
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large skillet over medium heat, saute the onions and the green peppers in the butter until the onions are translucent, about 5 minutes.
Transfer the sauteed mixture to a large bowl. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well.
Bake in a 350 degree oven for 60-65 minutes or until meatloaf is medium done, when a meat thermometer reads 160 degrees. Let stand for 10 minutes before slicing.
