Rum Cake

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. margarine
  • 1 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 t. vanilla extract
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 c. flour

Preparation

Step 1

Cream together margarine and sugar. Add vanilla and eggs, one at a time. Add sifted flour and mix well. Bake in a stem pan at 325 for 1 hour.

Rum Cake Icing:
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1 t. rum extract
Bring water and sugar to a boil. Cool and add rum extract. Apply to a warm cake.
