Ingredients

    16 oz can refried beans

  • 1

    lb ground beef

  • 1

    medium onion, chopped

  • 1

    tsp garlic powder

  • 1

    4 oz can diced chilies

  • ½

    (1.25 oz) pkg taco seasoning

  • 2

    12 0z cans enchilada sauce (divided)

  • 1

    16 oz pkg baked tortilla chips, coarsely crumbled

  • 2

    C shredded cheddar cheese

  • optional toppings: salsa, sour cream

Directions

Preheat oven to 350. Heat beans in microwave for 3 minutes. Set aside. Brown ground beef with onions and garlic powder. Drain. Add 1/2 pkt of taco seasoning and 1/3 can enchilada sauce. Mix. Remove from heat and set aside. Spray 9 X 11 pan, then layer the ingredients. Crumbled chips, meat mixture, refried beans, enchilada sauce and cheese. Repeat layers twice, leaving some enchilada sauce and cheese for top layer. Bake in oven for 15-20 minutes or until cheese is bubbly. Remove from oven and stand a few minutes before slicing.
