Ingredients

  • 8

    oz. (1 loaf) French bread, cut into 1 inch slices

  • 6

    eggs

  • 3/4

    c milk

  • 3/4

    c half and half cream

  • 1

    tsp vanilla

  • 1/8

    tsp nutmeg

  • 1/8

    tsp cinnamon

  • Topping:

  • 1

    stick butter

  • 1

    cup packed brown sugar

  • 2

    T dark corn syrup

  • 1

    c pecans

Directions

Butter a 9 inch square baking dish very well. Layer bread in pan. Mix the first set of ingredients together and pour over bread slices. Mix toppings mixture and spread over egg mixture. Refrigerate overnight, covered. Bake at 350 degrees approx. 40 minutes. Dish should be puffed and golden. Let stand 5 minutes, cut and serve!
