Spaghetti Pie

Ingredients

  • 6 oz spaghetti
  • 2 Tbsp margarine
  • 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 well beaten eggs
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup green pepper
  • 8 oz can of diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 6 oz can of tomato paste
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Cook beef, onion, and peppers until meat is brown. Stir in can of diced tomoatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano, and garlic salt. Heat through. Cook spaghetti as directed by package. Combine spaghetti, margarine, parmesan, cheese, and eggs. Press into buttered 10-inch pie plate. Spread cottage cheese over spaghetti "crust". Fill with meat filling. Bake uncovered in a 350F oven for 20-25 minutes. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Bake for 5 minutes or until cheese melts. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
