Ingredients

  • 2/3 c. butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 t. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 1/4 t. baking soda
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 1 C. mini choc. chips
  • 2 pkgs. vanilla chips
  • 1-2 T. shortening

Step 1

Beat butter, sugar, & vanilla till creamy. Add eggs, beat well. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, & salt. Gradually add to butter mix. Stir in 1 cup small choc. chips. Refrigerate dough 20 minutes. Heat oven to 350. For mummy body, roll 1 T. dough into 3 1/2 inch long carrot shape. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. For head, roll 1 t. dough into ball size of grape; press onto wide end of body. Repeat w/remaining dough. Bake 8-9 min. Remove to wire rack, cool. Microwave 1 2/3 C. white chips and 1 T. shortening on high 1 min. Stir till chips are melted. Spoon white chip mixture over cookie & place on wax paper. As coating sets, use toothpick to make mummy lines. Add choc chips for eyes.
