Ingredients
- INGREDIENTS:
- 2 cups of flour
- 1 cup water
- 2 cups of sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup (2 sticks)
- butter or marg.
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 4 tablespoons cocoa
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- ICING:
- 1 stick (1/2cup) marg/butter
- 4 tablespoons cocoa
- 6 tablespoons milk
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Preparation
Step 1
Cake Directions:
Preheat oven to 350.
Grease and flour baking pan.
Sift flour in a large bowl.
Add Sugar.
In a pan melt the butter/marg.
Add cocoa and water and mix.
Bring to a boil and pour over flour and sugar, beating very well.
Add 2 eggs and beat well.
Add buttermilk, baking soda and vanilla and mix well again.
Pour into prepared pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 35 minutes.
Pour icing over hot cake.
Icing Directions:
Melt marg/butter in pan.
Add cocoa and milk and bring to a boil.
Remove from heat and add 2 cups powdered sugar.
Mix very well.
Add vanilla and mix.
Add 1 cup chopped pecans and pour over hot cake.
