Mason Jar Oatmeal Raisin Cookies Mix

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 cups quick cooking oatmeal
  • 3/4 cup dark raisins
  • 1/2 teas salt
  • 1 teas baking soda
  • 1/2 teas ground nutmeg
  • 1 teas ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup all purpose flour

Preparation

Step 1

1. Wash and thoroughly dry a 1-quart wide mouth canning jar.

2. Layer the ingredients in the jar in the following order:
flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, salt, raisins, oatmeal, brown sugar, sugar.
Pressing firmly with a flat bottomed object, such as a tart tamper or the bottom of a narrow glass, after each addition. Make the layers as level as possible.

3. Secure the lid, and decorate as desired. attach the instructions for making the cookies found below.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Yield: about 30 cookies

In addition to the contents fo the jar, you will need to add the following ingredients:
3/4 cup butter, softened
1 egg
1 teas vanilla extract

Preheat the oven to 350. In a large bowl, cream the butter, egg, and vanilla. Add teh contents of the jar, and stir until well mixed. Drop the dough by heaping teaspoons onto an ungreased baking sheet, spacing the cookies about 2 inches apart. Bake 11 to 13 minutes, or until the edges are light brown in color. Allow to cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet, then transfer to wire racks and cool completely. Serve immediately, or store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
