Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 pack dry onion soup mix
  • 1/4 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 2 (10 3/4 oz) cans cream of mushroom (or chicken) soup
  • 1 (1 oz ) pkg dry au jus mix
  • 1 cup water

Mix together ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion soup mix and milk. Mix well and form into 8 patties.

Dredge patties one at a time in flour, and fry in skillet, in oil until brown on both sides. Place the patties in the crock pot, staggering or layering them as needed.

In a medium sized bowl mix together soup, gravy mix and water. Pour over top of patties and cover with lid.

Bake in crock pot on low for 4 hours until cooked through and firm.

If desired you can add sliced onions and/or sliced mushrooms on top before adding soup mixture.

Makes 8 servings, and a rich gravy.
