Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 Tbs. sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup, cold butter, cut up
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 Tbs. cold water, more if needed
Preparation
Step 1
Sift the flour, sugar and salt into a lg. bowl. Cut in the butter until crumbly. Stir together the egg yolk and water, then stir into the flour mixture with a fork. Add just enough cold water until the pastry can be gathered into a ball. Knead gently once or twice, then gather into a ball, wrap into plastic wrap and chill for at least 1 hr. Makes pastry for a 9-10 in. one-crust pie.
